Make A Room
There’s a scripture in the Bible that says, “A man’s gift makes room for him,
And brings him before great men.” (Proverbs 18:16).
There are numerous levels of interpretations for this scripture. But recently, the Lord brought to my attention something I hadn’t noted before. I never thought of a gift making room for you, meaning the gift is like a room and as you grow, mature, and submit, the room opens up and lets you further and further inside.
Most of the time I believe we think of our gifts as things that fit into our life but consider that God creates these divine gifts and as we submit to His will, we fit into the gift. How can we tell when we are fitting into the gift? Well, there’s this thing that can happen where people can’t separate you from the gift. And you can’t separate yourself either. I received this revelation as I was writing a note to my Pastor acknowledging her 19th Pastoral Anniversary. The Lord reminded me of how she is pastor to people that don’t even come to church. She is a pastor to family members and old friends who don’t attend her church because they live in a different state, but they seek her out when they face life’s difficulties and to tell her what God has done for them. She’s is so much of a pastor that it just comes out everywhere to everyone.
She owned a big Victorian house a while back and every weekend, someone was staying over the weekend. And she never made them go to church on Sunday. They were welcomed but there was no mandate. And God revealed to me that it did not matter, she still served them as a pastor and the pastoral and prophetic anointing resided in that house so God was able to make deposits in their lives while they sat on the side porch!
So we must allow the gifts and callings placed in our lives to make a room for us and set our minds to enter the room and sit down in the divine place God has created. Mike Murdoch correctly says that you were created to solve a problem. That is absolutely true! God created you to solve problems and He gave you gifts and talents to help you in that mission so take the time to cultivate and utilize what God gave you so you can change lives for the better!
